Today, we started off with warm ups, we focused on some improvisation i find improvisation work really helpful because it helps you to think more on the spot which is a really useful thing to be able to do as an actor. Because if something goes wrong on stage then you need to be able to think fast to cover it up.
We then moved on to a group task where we were given a stimulus which was lines from the song ‘Yesterday’ by the Beatles. We had to use them to work on our dialect and focus on our diction. We then had to make a group scene using the stimulus, our group created a piece about a boy who has an abusive father and his mother leaves because she can’t deal with the abuse anymore. And he doesn't cope well, his friends try to contact him and he is struggling with his mental health and at the end he ends his own life, i think this was an emotionally challenging piece to do especially acting as the mam, but i think as a group because we all discussed between us each other’s experience with abuse and mental health it was a really good piece and we made sure that each member of the group was comfortable with the role they were playing and we made sure that everyone was okay.

Today, we focused on getting to know our casts, and discussing our aims for being off script and the plans we had set down for the future. For our group of DNA we focused on talking to each other and also discussing who we thought each of the characters were and establishing relationships within the group. Im very excited for this project as i believe it will be a good challenge but also quite fun. Me and Daisy were given the roles of Jan and Mark (Macey) and these characters are very close, in different adaptations they are sometimes, siblings, best friends or dating, we chose to have them dating as we thought this would be more of a challenge to add on top of the other character work that we have to do. We also as a group went to get our group picture We then ended the session with our movement session with Abbie, and we focused on a practitioner Rudolf Laban he created techniques that come in very handy when creating physical theatre.

Today we split off into groups to do our individual group rehearsals, we focused on doing a full read through with our group we then focused a lot on what we were expecting from the production as a whole.
Monday 10th February 2025
Today rehearsals for DNA continued, we spent our day rehearsing the first scene, we put a lot of effort into the group scene in this scene, it was a very challenging scene as there was a lot going on in this scene, This is the scene where i have my long monologue and to get used to how my character would say what she is saying, we had Bree and Lou crying underneath and Cathy laughing on top of that, and i had to talk really loud over them both, it made me feel really overwhelmed and it was really hard, but it really helped to be able to get a feel of how Macey would actually feel in that situation.

Today, we started the day with some independent study time in the LRC, and then we moved on to our showcase pieces, and i focused on some of my production stuff that i would have to do for my film. I then spoke to my actors about the film and answered any questions they had about the film.

We started Wednesday off with some Viola Spolin Practitioner work- focusing on letting ourselves go as performers and becoming more spontaneous within our craft: using her methods of improvisation to do this. We started off by creating a devised piece in groups using two sentences that juxtaposed each other - having to include both the sentences within our piece. After Devising a scene we were then told to turn what we had created into a musical- using Viola Spolin's method of singing what you're saying to re build up and alter our scenes. This was quite good for my group because we basically just turned it into a Queen Medley Musical.
We then moved on to DNA rehearsals and my group focused more on the first scene as it is a very complex scene with a lot going on.
Today we then ended our session with continuing work on movement and creating a short movement piece that will then eventually be put together as a piece in our year 2 showcase. I enjoy these movement sessions because they really give us a chance to let go and have fun whilst also improving our craft.

Today, we started filming Table scenes, mine didn't get filmed today, but we spent some time rehearsing it and making sure we were ready to film it next week. After people had filmed their table scenes, we then moved on to DNA rehearsals, today we moved on to the second scene and focused a lot on it.
Monday 17th February 2025
Today, we spent the day doing more DNA rehearsals, i had a discussion with one of the other people playing Mark/Macey on how we see the character and what we thought the characters opinions on things are, we both agreed that he/she is a very paranoid person, and he/she feels really guilty for being a part in Adam’s ‘Death’ and throughout the story you can tell this, and we both agreed that at the end of the story he/she is just really scared that they are going to get in trouble and he/she might end up in jail after their part of the cover up.
Tuesday 18th February 2025
Today, whilst everyone was spending time in the afternoon on their pieces for the fringe, and Bright Young Things, I sat and worked on my lines and monologue for DNA, because i had finished most things that needed to be done for The Fringe, and DNA is more of a priority because it is first.
I also helped cast 1 take their photo
Wednesday 19th February 2025
Today we continued DNA rehearsals, we are at the point where we are making tweaks when we can, as it is difficult to balance our DNA rehearsals with the first years needing to be in normalised too, so when we don't have our first years, we sit as a group and discuss things like props, costumes, cast photos and social media.
Today we stated off the day with a session with Tom, we had a brilliant session blocking welcome to the rock from come from away the musical, This is the opening number of the musical, and it is a brilliant number, it is a musical about how 9/11 impacted people and what went on in a town called Gander.
After this we moved on to our acting for screen session with Kelly, today we did pieces from medical dramas, and we are potentially going to film them to go towards our show reels. After this, we did our tutorial and then we had a session with Tom all year 1 and 2 where we did a number together which was American idiot by Green Day. It was very fun and it was really nice to do something as a group.
