DNA Evaluation

For my character of Macey in DNA, my goals were to show that my character is very paranoid and feels guilty about what she has done, she was there when they 'killed' Adam, and you can tell that she feels really guilty because she is really trying to justify what they have done. I think the main struggle for this character is that i have never killed someone so it is a challenge to be able to think how that character may think and feel. I think for me as an actor, the hardest part of the play was doing my monologue, it was a very hard piece with a lot of emotion, during rehearsal, whilst doing my monologue we practiced with people crying underneath me which made it really hard, but it set the mood, which when we took out the crying it made it easier to be able feel that emotion, with everyone crying underneath, it made me feel really overwhelmed so it was good that i could then carry this over into my acting after we took it out.

Overall, i think that i managed to capture the emotions that my character felt throughout quite well, i think that at first she doesn't really realise that they have actually just killed someone, i think that she is in denial, but through the group scene in scene 1, i think that guilt really starts to build uo and then she lets it all out during her monologue, i think that throughout the play that guilt really starts to take over, and you can see in the play her start to get more paranoid during the group scenes, and in scene scene 3 when they find Adam, she is really just in pieces, she cant stop crying and she is panicking because she was there when Adam fell down the grille and she is scared that she will get in trouble with the police now that he has been found.

I think that i managed to work well on notes that i was given throughout the process, i was given notes on volume and changing my voice to sound deeper, to make my character more different and not like me, i think i did well on improving this because when i went on stage and performed it i had changed those things, i made my voice deeper and i made sure to work on my projection.
